Non-executive Directors
Gill Gibson looks at the increasing demand for Non-executive Directors (NEDs).
NEDs are central to the proper running of organisations. The recent Higgs Review of the Role and Effectiveness of Non-executive Directors is likely to lead to demand for more and better trained NEDs and the Smith Report Audit Committees Combined Code Guidance will strengthen the role of audit committees.
ACCA UK has developed a three-day programme in response to the growing demand for well-equipped NEDs, in particular for those with financial and accounting literacy and expertise.
The programme will equip potential and new NEDs with a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities and of the corporate governance framework within which they will work. It also offers established NEDs the opportunity to update their knowledge.
The programme will take place on 4 September, 10 November and 28 November in
central London and costs £1125 + VAT (£1321.88). For further information,
