ACCA Technical Briefing

ACCA offers a wide range of learning opportunities to ensure all members maintain and develop their knowledge and skills in order to meet the growing challenges in the profession. Technical knowledge and competencies have been one of the key areas that members need to continuously maintain and develop to remain relevant and credible while gaining the confidence of stakeholders.

ACCA Technical Briefing is a series of half-day programmes to assist members to keep up-to-date on the recent technical developments in the accounting profession. This half-day programme will include recent developments in Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), Malaysian Approved Auditing Standards and relevant laws and regulation pertinent to accountants.

Speaker’s Profile

Jennifer Lopez is Head of Policy and Technical Development for ACCA (Association Chartered Certified Accountants) Malaysia. Jennifer is primarily responsible for the provision, support and contribution to a broad range of policy and technical advisory and services in order to support ACCA’s global strategy, strengthen ACCA’s reputation in the local accounting community and address stakeholders’ concern.

Her role includes advisory on technical matters and implications relating to changes in accounting standards and regulations involving the accounting profession and providing ACCA’s view points on these issues. Jennifer is also responsible to assure that ACCA’s thought leadership initiatives are carried out in line with its objectives and performance expectations and she is a resource speaker on subject of CSR and Sustainability Reporting.

Prior to joining ACCA Malaysia, Jennifer was with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Malaysia and her experience in PwC includes audit and business advisory assignments involving a wide range of Malaysian and Multinational clients. Jennifer is an accounting graduate of University Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
