The Competition aimed at helping students to equip and polish themselves with the necessary skills required by today's employers. The 12 finalists divided into 3 groups were required to prepare and conduct their presentations based on the questions announced on the day of the Final Competition. Finalists were asked to develop business proposals and present to the Committee which consists of senior executives of HKSAR Government (the judging panel) so as to make Hong Kong as the winning city for holding the next Global Forum of Accountants in 2011 with a theme of "The world needs three-dimensional accountants". Judges assessed their performance according to their analytical, communication and presentation skills, and performance in the Question and Answer session.
Tse Yuen Ting and her group had conducted an outstanding proposal. Her pleasant and confident presentation was impressed by the judging panel. Ms Tse was really glad to have won the Competition amongst a group of outstanding students. Making an impact on the judges with her passion and self-confidence are crucial in the competition. From this competition, she learnt how to distinguish herself within a limited time frame by highlighting her advantages and leave a good impression to the employer during job interviews.
Morison Chan, President of ACCA Hong Kong, was impressed by the remarkable performance of the 12 finalists. He said: "Job Hunting Competition is an exceptional opportunity for undergraduates to experience and challenge themselves in a realistic recruitment setting. Learn more about the interview skills, and broaden their perspectives through paying attention to what’s happening in the economy will definitely help them preparing for it."
