Northern Ireland water secures top ACCA award
Northern Ireland Water (NIW) has today received two awards from ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), the world’s largest and fastest-growing professional international accountancy body. The first award for Professional Development approval is part of the ACCA Approved Employer programme which recognises the support that NIW provide to ACCA members for the purpose of continuing professional development. ACCA have also awarded NIW Platinum approval which acknowledges NIW’s commitment towards their training and development of trainees studying the ACCA Qualification.
As part of the Professional Development programme, employers whose training schemes meet ACCA’s rigorous criteria can become ACCA Approved Employers and are rewarded with a broad range of tools to help implement their staff development programmes. These include e-learning resources such as online courses, a CPD planning tool known as the professional development matrix and a knowledge library, an internet based research resource tool.
ACCA Platinum approval reflects the level of support that NIW provides to ACCA trainees and affiliates and represents global best practice in the training and development of ACCA trainees and affiliates.
Ronan Larkin, Director of Finance and Regulation with NIW, said, “A key foundation in NIW’s success is our investment in people development. ACCA approval for both our professional development and trainee development programmes helps us ensure that our staff is continuously being challenged in their work. The training support we provide is world class and will ensure that we continue to attract the highest calibre trainee accountants to our organisation.”
Deane Morrice, President, ACCA Ireland said: ‘When deciding on a potential employer, employees are increasingly considering the importance of continuous training and development as part of their over all package. ACCA's professional development and trainee schemes provide a benchmark of good practice to employers and employees around the world. It gives NIW public recognition for the quality of support and training they invest in their employees and potential employees.”
