The Office of the Comptroller & Auditor General (C&AG) has received two top employer awards from ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

John Buckley, Comptroller and Auditor General, was presented by the head of ACCA Ireland, Kevin Kernan, with the ACCA’s Professional Development Award and the Trainee Gold Award in recognition of the commitment and support given to his staff in the area of continuing professional development and to their trainees studying for the ACCA Qualification.

John Buckley, Comptroller & Auditor General, said, “A key foundation of this Office’s success is the capability of our people. ACCA’s accreditation challenges our organisation to maintain the highest quality development approaches and its approval for both our professional development and trainee development programmes helps us ensure that our staff are continuously being challenged in their work. ACCA Approved Employer: Professional Development
As part of this programme, employers whose training schemes meet ACCA’s rigorous criteria can become ACCA Approved Employers and are rewarded with a broad range of tools to help implement their staff development programmes. These include e-learning resources such as online courses, a CPD planning tool known as the professional development matrix and a knowledge library, an internet based research resource tool.

ACCA Approved Employer: Trainee Development
ACCA Trainee Development approval reflects the level of support that an employer provides to ACCA trainees and affiliates and represents global best practice in the training and development of ACCA trainees and affiliates.
