Certificates awarded to place winners in Karachi
The certificates where handed over by Mr. Ahmed Patel FCA, Senior Partner Ford, Rhodes, Sidat, Hyder & Co. Mr. Patel in his usual visionary style appreciated the achievement of the ACCA students and encouraged them to complete their professional studies. He went on to say “There were a great many opportunities open to them both within Pakistan and overseas with a globally recognised qualification such as ACCA.”
One student in Particular Mr. Usman Farooqui, obtained the highest marks globally 93% in ACCA's paper 1.2 Financial Information for Management. ACCA is sponsoring Usman to attend a special prize giving in London this month. Usman who is currently an undergraduate at LUMS is expecting to attend with his father. On behalf of ACCA Pakistan, students and members in Pakistan we wish him many congratulations.
The place winner’s ceremony was preceded by a seminar on “What Employers are Looking for in Prospective Employees” which was well attended by ACCA students. The invited speakers were Mr. Anwar Goplani of SSGC, Miss Nuzhat Hussein, HRM, Caltex Ltd and Mr. Nadeem Junaidy, HRM Orix Leasing. All speakers agreed that ACCA students and members provided a new source of professionals for the local companies and there was no discrimination in their recruitment policies when hiring professionals.
