Starbucks Head of Business Transformation in the UK elected to global accountancy body’s Council
Pauline Hobson has been elected to serve on ACCA’s (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) governing Council at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today (15 May 2008).
Qualifying with ACCA in 1991, Pauline Hobson is currently the Head of Business Transformation at Starbucks Coffee Company (UK and Ireland), and has held previous senior roles in the Retail, IT, Service and Manufacturing industries.
Mrs Hobson says: “My ACCA qualification was crucial in giving me the credibility and self confidence to be successful in business since leaving school at the age of 15. I am very proud to be an ACCA member, and believe strongly in its values of inclusiveness, choice and opportunity.
“I am honoured to be given the opportunity to serve on ACCA’s Council.
I believe that ACCA has to build on its world class reputation for the highest professional, ethical and governance standards, while continuing to innovate and grow its influence and global reach.”
Mrs Hobson also gained a MBA via the joint ACCA / Oxford Brookes degree programme, and was also finalist in The Independent’s MBA Student of the Year Award in 2005.
Living in Reading, Pauline is married with one son. She is a keen allotment gardener, and enjoys running, solving puzzles and relaxing by doing cross stitch embroidery.
