A careers adviser introduced Patty Hu to ACCA. Patty felt ACCA would help her understand international accounting, build up her confidence and improve her overall work performance. "Gaining the ACCA qualification gave me the confidence to look for more challenges: I joined CitiInsurance Life Insurance Co., Limited as AVP & Financial Controller."
Patty has never lost sight of her long-term goals. "Becoming an ACCA member was an important achievement in my life. I know that anything is possible with hard work and determination and this has made a positive impact on my life generally. "I hope to travel, and write a book. I really feel that I can do these things now."
In the future Patty would like to see accountants make a real difference to the world they live in: "A modern finance professional must have two main qualities: integrity and professionalism. We must work towards rebuilding the profession's reputation and instil fresh confidence in the public with respect to the integrity of accountants."
