  1. What is the target audience for the Certificate in International Financial Reporting?
    The target audience is professional accountants and auditors, qualified in accordance with their national accounting standards. However, it is possible for those with experience, but no formal qualifications in accounting and auditing to register for this Certificate.

  2. How much does the course cost?
    The course materials and assessment for the Certificate are available together for £200 or can be purchased separately at a cost of £110 each.
    ACCA members receive a discount for the Certificate. The course materials and assessment are available together for £160 or can be purchased separately at a cost of £90 each. The discount will be applied automatically when members register online with a valid credit card and enter their ACCA membership number.

  4. When can I register?
    Students can register online at any time throughout the year – there are no closing dates.

  5. How can I pay for the Certificate in International Financial Reporting?
    The current method of payment for the online courses is by credit or debit card.

  6. What is the duration of the course?
    You will have access to the course for three months exactly from the date that you register.

  7. How many hours does it take to complete the Certificate in International Financial Reporting?
    It is anticipated that the average Certificate in International Financial Reporting student will take 20 hours to work through the course. The course and assessment will count towards CPD for members of ACCA (subject to ACCA guidelines).
    For members following the ACCA Realise Unit Scheme, completing the course materials will contribute 20 units of CPD. A further five units of CPD is available for passing the assessment.

  8. How do I access the course once I have registered?
    On registration, you will be sent a User ID and Password alongside instructions on how to access the course. Please follow these carefully to access the course materials.

  9. What if I forget my password and username?
    You can contact us by e-mailing your query to: students@accaglobal.com and entering 'Certificate in International Financial Reporting' in the e-mail subject line. Please request your password in the body of your e-mail.

  10. How do I download the course materials?
    Go to the course 'Welcome' page. Click on 'Download a printable version of the course' then click on the disk icon to download.

  11. How is the course assessed?
    It is assessed by online multiple-choice assessment. It is only possible for candidates to take the multiple-choice assessment online and marking is also administered and conducted electronically. The score for the assessment will be available on screen for the candidate immediately after taking the assessment.

  12. Do I need to attend an exam centre to sit the assessment?
    No, the assessment is sat online. As long as you have access to a computer then you can sit the assessment anywhere.

  13. How many attempts do I have at the assessment?
    Each student has three attempts. If a student fails all three attempts at the assessment, they will be required to pay a further registration fee and will be given another three attempts to pass the assessment.

    All attempts at the assessment must be conducted within the three months of access to the online course. Students may repeat their assessment immediately if they wish. However, they are strongly advised to leave sufficient time before a re-test in order to review the course and to consolidate their learning.
  14. How long is the assessment?
    The assessment is one hour long and there are 25 multiple choice questions.

  15. What is the pass mark?
    The pass mark is 50%.

  16. Do I receive a certificate on successful completion of the online course?
    Yes. On passing the assessment you should receive the certificate within 7-10 days. Please note that this is sent to the address that you entered on registration.

  17. Will the pass mark appear on my certificate?
    No, the percentage is not recorded on the certificate. Your name, the official ACCA water seal and the signatures of ACCA Council are all included on the certificate.

  18. Can I take two online courses at the same time?
    Yes, but you must register using the same AD number eg (AD12345) or ACCA membership/registration number. This way you will be linked to all ACCA online courses that you have registered for, past or present.

  19. Do I need to purchase additional course material?
    In order to gain maximum advantage from this course, you should obtain a copy of the bound volume of the International Financial Reporting Standards. You can purchase this direct from the IASB website.
