The ICGFM has a journal which is issued twice a year. This journal includes a range of articles, research papers, letters and reviews which will be of interest to many public-sector financial managers.
Annual conference 2004
The 18th Annual International Conference of the International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management (ICGFM) was held in Miami, USA in May 2004.
The theme of the conference was promoting development by eradicating corruption, enhancing security, improving transparency and strengthening accountability - New Developments in Government Financial Management.
The conference was attended by nearly 200 senior public- sector finance officers from around the world (with a large presence from Latin America). The attendees also included several officers from USAID (the US Agency for International Development), the US General Accounting Office (GAO) (Auditor-General), US public-sector accounting bodies, the World Bank, and some private-sector consultants.
The senior attendees included:
- the Accountant-General and the Deputy Auditor-General of India
- the Deputy Accountant-General and the Deputy Auditor-General of Pakistan
- the Auditors-General of Peru, Bolivia, Barbados, Cameroon and Hungary
- several senior staff from the Auditor-General's Office of the Philippines
- the Accountants - General of Barbados and Tanzania.
There were also attendees from several Balkan states, Uganda, Trinidad, St Kitts and Mongolia. The acting President of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and a senior officer from the French Ministry of Finance also spoke at the conference.
