ACCA is the largest and fastest-growing global professional accountancy body. We aim to offer the first choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management. ACCA works to achieve and promote the highest professional, ethical and governance standards and advance the public interest.
Our professional qualification is respected globally and our access to companies, governments, regulators and practitioners around the world give us a unique perspective on financial management and accountability in the public and private sectors.
Our members
ACCA members work in practising firms of accountants, commerce, industry and the public sector. We have members in senior government positions, across the Big Four accounting firms, in listed multinational companies and many are small business advisers and entrepreneurs.
Our work
To complement our education and training of financial professionals, ACCA conducts research into and comments publicly on a wide range of business, financial and regulatory issues. We have in-house technical experts in tax, audit, financial reporting, corporate governance, education and lifelong learning, small business, public sector finance, pensions, debt management and corporate social responsibility.ACCA's technical advisory service is in daily contact with our members, and this, coupled with our member and student networks structure - with representatives in every constituency in the UK - ensures that ACCA is fully aware of the key issues affecting the accountancy profession and the business community at local, regional, national and international levels.
Building productive links with UK Parliamentarians, the Government and its agencies and influencing policy development in the public interest are key priorities for ACCA. The ACCA Public Policy Unit is keen to engage in all aspects of the public policy process. Our booklet, It Adds Up, provides background information about ACCA, details the issues on which we will be campaigning and highlights the range of policy development areas on which we can provide informed opinion.
