The Public Affairs team exists to protect and enhance the reputation of ACCA with government, parliament, policy advisers, key civil servants and other political and business stakeholders. We aim to build positive relationships with key decision makers, and to influence and inform legislation and policy ensuring the best possible outcomes for ACCA's work.
Our political contact programme includes mechanisms such as: submitting evidence, both written and oral, to Parliamentary inquiries; briefing politicians on our position in advance of debates; organising events at Party Conferences and Parliamentary receptions to showcase ACCA policy papers and our stance on topical issues; and by working with the Media Relations team to ensure that politicians are exposed to the same key messages in the media they access. The work has to date been largely aimed at Whitehall , Westminster and Brussels , but will be increasingly rolled out to offices in all our major markets.
